I’M PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN - THE JOY OF FREEDOM
Independence Day is a day to reflect and remember all that we are as a nation. To remember the freedom we often overlook, battles fought and most of all to remember the men and women who dedicated their lives to make this nation great. It’s a day to show our pride for the great country we live in and with grateful hearts to remember where we came from. The failures, successes, joys and tears that have made this country who we are today.
The Freedom we celebrate today
Remember that gratitude and reflecting on the things that we are grateful for helps us to continue to live a more joyful life. In this article I looked for inspiring quotes and reminders of our freedom. We as American’s have a lot to be grateful for today no matter what political party you claim. Today as we celebrate our independence we can all stop and take a moment to be grateful and remember the sacrifices made for our freedom. We can be thankful for the opportunities we have to work, play, worship and speak freely about what we believe.

I’m proud to be an American
Growing up I was taught to be proud of my country, my heritage and our countries hero’s. The song sang by Lee Greenwood quoted above was always my favorite patriotic song. I remember years of listening to this inspiring song while watching fireworks as a child. It would play on the radio while we would sit in our chairs and on our blankets waiting for the fireworks to begin in Downtown Toledo.
As a child I felt proud of my country, proud of our military and proud of the freedom that I knew they fought to protect. I will always be proud and grateful for my country. I will always respect what we are blessed with here in the USA and what many do not have. We have the freedom to write, read, speak and worship that many others do not have. We are so blessed to have these freedoms and although you may not always agree with what someone else writes, says or even does I want to remind you to never forget that this is the freedom we all love. Freedom has a price that has been and continues to be paid by men and women fighting for our country and for what they believe in. Never forget where we came from and always respect and honor those who fight for our rights and freedom today.

Thank you for all you give of yourselves for your state, city and country everyday. Protecting us and keeping us safe.
