As my daughter is getting older I am enjoying finding ways to enjoy our time together for free. As I do so I thought it might be helpful for other parents to discover some new fun-free things to do with their kids.
FUN FREE THINGS TO DO WITH YOUR KIDS
Being a parent is often a tough job. It is a challenge to be creative and entertain our kids, especially without a lot of money. It can be costly to go do fun things with children but it does not have to be. There are many opportunities to do things for free wherever you live but sometimes finding those ideas can be harder to do. Below is a list of fun free things to do with your kids that will not cost anything and kids will enjoy doing.
Local libraries kids programs
Local metro parks or state parks kids programs
Many local churches have programs for kids or special summer camps/ vacation bible schools

Not completely free because there will still be some costs for parents but kids can go to the Ark Encounter for free in 2024
Go to any local park to play or take a nature walk
FUN FREE THINGS TO DO AT HOME WITH YOUR KIDS
1. Teach your kids to cook or bake my daughter loves to do this with me even at four years old. It is the most fun for them when it is something they enjoy to eat.
2. Arts and crafts with whatever you have already at home. Pinterest has some great craft ideas.
3. Have a tea party
4. Make a fort or castle out of couch cushions, sheets, chairs, boxes, etc.
5. Game nights/days with family and friends
6. Play catch
7. Take a picnic together
8. Read books together
9. Have a family movie night together
10. Do a puzzle together
It gets easier to create things to do for free the more that you do it. When you have available funds it opens up even more options because with just a small amount of money, you can often find additional cheap options to entertain your children. One fun option with just a little money would be cheap movies in the summertime with kids at Regal, AMC & Cinemark, check your local theatres for more details.
