Many people do not know that something called unclaimed funds exists. Unclaimed funds are simply accounts with various businesses and financial institutions unable to gain contact with an individual. Usually these accounts have had no activity on these accounts for at least one year. These financial companies owe this money to the individual, but often the individual has no idea that the money is even owed to them or how to obtain it. It is really simple to find if you or your family member has unclaimed funds. What you do is simply type in your name and state, and the website will search to see if you have any funds to be claimed. This really does work, and they will refund you the money. You are required to prove who you are to the unclaimed funds department to receive these funds, and will need to provide certain identification. You will need to file a claim to receive the money and will need to show proof of who you are. This will be in the form of identification, proof of social security number, drivers license or state issued ID card, etc. This is an awesome way to find money that you did not even know that you had, and there are a lot of unclaimed funds still out there just waiting to be claimed.
