WHY I WILL NOT BE ATTENDING FINCON 2019

Today I will share why I am not attending FinCon 2019. Many of you were probably wondering if this is a post designed to trash FinCon 2019. Some of you may have even been wondering what FinCon even is? FinCon is a financial media conference held each year in a different location around the United States. This year's conference is being held in Washington D.C. and to be honest I am somewhat disappointed to be missing this awesome experience for my second year in a row. When I started blogging last year I had honestly never heard of FinCon before I began my blog. A few months before FinCon 2018 it was all I heard of across Twitter. I heard so many excited friends talk about going for their first or second time to this exciting conference. In 2018 I was very new to blogging and could not afford to go to the conference or miss the time off for this event. I was determined that this year in 2019 I would make it a point to attend the conference no matter what. In October 2018 tickets went on sale for FinCon at a discounted rate. I had previously been informed that these tickets are usually cheaper than any other time due to the early purchasing date. I did not however purchase a ticket at this time, due to a no spend month that I was doing with my friend Sarah from Lemonblessings.com. I am glad that due to my no spend month promise, I did not purchase my ticket at this time. Sadly if I had I would still be unable to attend. Within the next month I would discover that I am pregnant with my very first child who was born June 21st 2019. I am sorry to miss a conference where I would have the opportunity to meet so many awesome personal finance bloggers and friends. However bringing a brand new baby along to this conference or leaving my husband to care for our new born on his own are definitely not the best options for me as a new mom.I am certain that one day I will be in attendance for this great conference and will have the chance to learn from some of the best, just like all of my financial blogger friends. For those attending FinCon 2019 do me a favor, take plenty of notes and bring back plenty of wisdom to share. I look forward to learning from all of you and hopefully attending FinCon 2020 for my very first FinCon experience.
