WHAT INSPIRES ME: SPEAK LIFE

I decided to create a new series on the blog of things that inspire me in my own personal life, both financial and unrelated to finance. We all need more inspiration and encouragement in our lives everyday no matter who we are. So many people around the world are struggling with so many things everyday that you have no idea about.

Every person that you cross paths with each day needs some encouragement, needs some hope and needs some joy. Life can get us down, our finances especially can overwhelm us at times. Many are in the middle of or on the verge of making horrible life altering decisions based on the lack of joy in their lives. I have known my share of people over the years who have chosen a life of drugs, alcohol abuse or even chosen to end their lives. In fact as a high schooler, I myself contemplated suicide and yet something stopped me from making this choice to end my life.  I believe that God had and still has plans for my life and did not allow me to take that leap. Today I am so grateful for this and my heart hurts for those who are like I was. I hurt for those people who have burdens that they bare silently everyday.

I want to simply encourage you all as we head into our week to take a step back in each situation and look at people differently. I want you to begin to see the person next to you at the grocery store or in the cubicle next to you differently. I want you to see that person as someone who deserves respect, and someone who needs more joy in their lives. Be an example to others of the love and joy that you want to see in this world. Not everyone will appreciate it. That is not your concern, it is only important that you do it. Knowing that you have done what you could to make our world a more joyful and loving place is so important. This is not guaranteed to solve all of our worlds problems. However it can potentially make a difference in many lives, including your own.

Keep in mind the words that you speak everyday, have the ability to lift someone up or the ability to tear someone down. Each interaction that you have in life has the potential to inspire another person in their own life. Do not take that lightly. It is far more important than you think, and it can mean the world to someone. Choose your words wisely because words hold great power. Remember that each word spoken can never be taken back and the hurt caused can only be forgiven.

This post today was inspired by a song that I heard many years ago that has affected my life greatly. The song is called Speak life and it is by the musical artist Toby Mac. If you have a moment and want to take a listen head on over to YouTube and check it out for yourself.
